After 47 years known as Wal-Mart Stores, the world’s largest company dropped “Stores” from its name and stepped up its e-commerce push in competition with Amazon (AMZN) and other rivals. The change went into effect on February 1, 2018 as shown in Walmart's latest Form 10-K filing.
Reading the filing changes against the annual report filed last year, we can find lot of interesting information. For example, Walmart indicated the change to Sam's Club membership to better compete against Amazon.com, as well as peer competitors Costco: (Brown color indicates the content removed, green color indicates the new contents)
